Experiences always make you Grow

At times you will feel vulnerable,
Your immunities might just run out,
Your fears may get exposed,
Your intensities might dilute a little,
But Hey,
Something's happening when it's not still,
Life is growing and it is supposed to,
It's like rain,
Clearing the dust on the flowers
To make them blossom fresh.

Finding Happiness

It is often said that in the hustle of life, we forget to live. Do you thing that statement holds good in your life?

Well, I think it does. I have seen people who wish or desire to do something different of what they are doing presently. Those people know that they are not doing what they want to but they still prefer to stick to their usual activities. May be it is not possible for them to do what they desire to, may be they don't have the courage to move forward towards their dreams. It is something we all have experienced at some point or the other in our life.

 Courtesy: www.maxpixel.net

What I feel is, it is utmost important that whatever work we are doing, whether we desire to do it or not, we should keep filling it up with portions of happiness. There are voids in our works in which we have the option of filling them up with smiles and happiness. It is crucial we don't forget to be happy whatever the situation we are facing.

Happiness is something which will help us in keeping good levels of  excitement even when the situations are not working in our way, even when the world is falling smiling will trigger a sense of hope for something better to happen.

Courtesy: pxhere.com
It is also important that we spread happiness wherever we go, wherever we work, whomsoever we are dealing with, happiness should be something that is reflected in the work that we do.

There can be a lot of things that makes one happy, it might be different for different individuals yet the output it will bring out will more or less be same. The source of happiness can be different, for example some people might feel happy by singing, some by playing their favorite sport, some by dancing, some by talking to their best friends or some by writing. If one knows there is this particular thing that makes them happy, then why not incorporate those things whenever we find the time in our busy life. The hectic schedule of the life will continue till you are breathing your last breath so do fill the voids of your life with happiness.

Cheers.

Everyone Follows Their Own Timelines

Hello readers,
Each one of us at some point in our life comes across a situation where we are shown or made to feel how well people similar to our age, qualification have achieved, while we haven't achieved much compared to them.

Courtesy: pexels.com

We are often compared to our friends, siblings and also our parents (when they were of our age). We are made to feel how insignificant our efforts have been up till now. We are made to feel that we are lacking behind someone.

To all of the people who feel such things or make others feel such things, here is something really cool-
  • J.K. Rowling was 32 years when she finally got a publisher for Harry Potter, after being rejected from 12 publishers.
  • Morgan Freeman took major strides when he was 52.
  • Jack Ma started Alibaba when he was 35.
  • Richard Branson started Virgin when he was 34.
  • Lionel Messi used to serve tea at shop to support his football training.
  • Albert Einstein the greatest minds of all times couldn't speak till he was 4 years, and couldn't read till he was 7.
  • Colonel Sanders started KFC at the age of 65.
  • Sachin Tendulkar couldn't clear his 8th class examinations.
  • Michael Jordan was rejected from his school basketball team.

Countesy: wikipedia
I always believe that everyone here has his/her timeline which he/she should follow and should not peep into others timelines. We should believe in ourselves and should keep putting in efforts without comparing it to the efforts or results of others.

Keep inspiring. Keep smiling. Cheers.

Psychology Update : Narcissism and Egocentrism

Written by : Aditi Saini

‘I know the best’ and ‘it’s all about me’, suggests Narcissism.

Extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one’s own talents and craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type, is what is known as Narcissism, in psychological terms.
Courtesy: pixbay.com
A narcissist will be wrapped with high levels of self-esteem, grandiosity, self-focus, and self-importance. They think they are more physically attractive and intelligent than just about everyone, and would rather be admired than liked. They are enraged when told they aren’t beautiful or brilliant but aren’t affected much if told they are jerks. Also, if narcissists were just jerks, they would be easy to avoid. The fact that they are entertaining, as well as aggressive and manipulative makes them compelling in the real world and as subjects of psychological scrutiny. Narcissism attain peak in adolescence and start decreasing gradually.

Psychologist Fredrick Stinson and his colleagues conducted face-to-face interviews with 34,653 adults and found that men are more narcissistic than women across the lifespan.
Courtesy: staticflickr.com
There is no denying the fact; we all have got narcissism within. Self confidence, self respect, self sufficiency are the traits of narcissism that embellish our personality. But when this narcissism starts striding limits, it then becomes a disorder. Narcissists crave for a marked need of attention and try of adapt every possible way, to please the other sex. They are being subjugated by over confidence that hits them hard, too hard to stand again many a times. Ego gulps their mind and they hate being said, ‘no’.
Courtesy: pxhere.com
Commonly, egocentrism is adhered with narcissism. Egocentrism is the inability to understand or assume any perspective other than theirs. But there exists a difference between both the terms. For a narcissist, his/her ego is greatly influenced by the approval of other people, while for an egocentric; this may or may not be true. Like narcissism, egocentrism also domicile within every individual up to some extent, and start being a danger, when it crosses the limit. One of the most negative impacts of egocentrism is isolation from the good and loved ones. Very often, an egocentric is dominating and consider him the mightiest and worthiest irrespective of the person he might be comparing with. This often leads to plague the good relations, understanding, and hurting others person’s self respect.
Courtesy: pixabay.com
Narcissism and egocentrism may lead to depression and stress. For if the thirst for self attention and domination is not quenched, the person starts overthinking and takes too much stress. These are not negative habit, simply, these are not habits. They come under psychological disorder and can be cured.
Courtesy: pixabay.com
But one needs to understand that this is a problem and needs healing. Meditation is one of the best solutions. It helps to recognize the best part of one’s soul and cleans mind and shoo away the stress, anxiety, ego, dirty thoughts. Being loving, kind and helpful is the way of living a ‘divine life’

A happy and satisfied life is possible. Just kill that narcissism.

Psychology Update : The Abreaction Therapy

Written by : Radhika Bhattacharyya

Abreaction is a psychoanalytical term which refers to vividly imagining or reliving a painful memory from the past, usually in order to purge or cleanse the strong negative feelings associated with it.

Courtesy: wikimedia.org

For example, a brave soldier who has fought several years for his country and has lost one of his limbs in a war; even after treatment by the best doctors in the country, his lost limbs have left him permanently disabled. He might end up being a bitter and depressed man recollecting his days in the army where everyone revered and saluted him versus now when wherever he would go people would look at him with a sense of pity or revulsion. He might feel an increasing desire of ending his life rather than living on pity of others.

Courtesy : pxhere.com

Abreaction Therapy is used when a person is in need of a spiritual or emotional  succour after a breakdown. It is only used for people severely affected by hardships or trauma in life to such an extent that it affects their feelings of trust, affection, self esteem and in general, relations with others. They may end up engaging in activities which are detrimental to their health and state of well being.

Courtesy : media.defense.gov

By leading the client through the event; the feelings of fear, rejection or guilt are released that have been for long preserved in the vestiges of the clients' memory. As a process that brings out difficult emotions, the client will go through an emotional upheaval that will slowly and steadily provide a release from the burden of the traumatic event. After the treatment, the client gains a new clarity and understanding of the event and should be able to talk about the event without any feelings of discomfort.

Courtesy : staticflickr.com

For instance , a rape survivor who is haunted by traumatic reminiscences, may follow an illogical thought process whereby she irrationally assumes herself to be somehow guilty of herself bringing about the horrendous situation she was in , for instance, by reason of her dress code.

Courtesy : media.defense.gov

But after the abreaction therapy, there would be a proper clarity in her thinking, and the illogical, self defeating feelings of guilt and remorse are swept aside. She would then come to the proper conclusion that no matter her circumstance, the rapists are the ones entirely to be blamed.

Psychology Update: The Mirroring

Written by : Shreya Jain

Mirroring, is a phenomenon wherein people mimic another person’s gestures, actions, postures or words, in a social setting. It is a form of non-verbal behavior, and most of the times, it takes place subconsciously. Mirroring is a way of showing trust, empathy, and a way of bonding and staying in tune with the others.

Courtesy: static.pexels.com

Mirroring is quite a common phenomenon. It is the elemental nature of human beings. Couples walking in perfect synchronization, pointing fingers at each other in a conversation, thinking while scratching your head, sitting cross legged if the one beside you in a meeting sits so or smiling and laughing when the others in a group do; are all everyday instances of mirroring.  Even in politics, we see how Presidents of different countries mirror each other to ascertain trust and harmony. The way a person behaves non-verbally, through his postures, gestures, hand movements, tells a lot about his personality and the way he thinks.

Courtesy: wikimedia.org

We all mirror our fellow mates, colleagues, bosses or partners, just that we are oblivious to the fact that we’re doing so. Mirror neurons, a set of nerve cells in the brain, are responsible for mirroring. Activation of these, leads a person to subconsciously mimic the other to allow a greater level of connection between them. The earliest form of mirroring can be seen in an infant-parent relationship. Parents are found imitating their children’s voice, way of speaking and expressions as a way of validating the child’s emotions. This helps the child bond well with the parents. Infants too, mimic their parents’ body languages, words, and actions to be able to connect with them.

Courtesy: pixnio.com

People mirror each other to show that they are on the same page or wavelength and in sync with one another. It helps establish rapport and trust between them. Mirroring also shows that a person is willing to understand the other, empathizes with them or feels connected to them. It is a way of portraying harmony and comfort in another’s company.

Mirroring is also a technique of survival. Usually, in offices, the employees mirror their subordinates or the leaders to stay attuned to them. They all follow unspoken codes of conduct and formal dress codes as a way of fitting in. Be it bridesmaids adorning the same outfits, bikers wearing similar clothes in rallies or crowds jumping and applauding at concerts, they’re all a way of mirroring each other to have a sense of security and belonging towards the group. It has been a way of survival.

Courtesy: wikimedia.org

In all, it is a great way of establishing a good relationship with someone, as the one being mirrored feels that he is being reflected in someone else. The fact that someone feels, thinks and acts the way you do, is enough to form a good bond with them and automatically connect with them.

Psychology Update : The Double Bind

Written by : Aakriti Agrawal

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. The line perfectly explains the psychological theory called Double Bind. It is a situation in which you feel like whatever you decide, you will be wrong. It is something which most of us have experienced at least once in our lives. It is basically a no-win situation.

Courtesy: wikimedia.org
Examples of such situations can be when a student wants to go abroad to expand his or her learning opportunities but, at the same time they do not want to leave their family and friends behind and move to a completely unknown country. This is an example of a no-win situation because whichever path they decide to go on, they will lose something or the other. Another example can be when a person wants to lose weight but, can not leave fattening products.

Gregory Bateson and his colleagues believed that the double bind or no-win situation was a contributing factor in schizophrenia. It is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to think, feel and behave clearly. They proposed that contradictions in the interaction between family members predisposes it’s members to schizophrenia. But, later on the theory was discarded for the lack of convincing support.

Courtesy:pixbay.com
People have now come up with many ways to deal with a double bind situation. Such a situation can make you feel angry, helpless, trapped or even depressed. So, one of the first steps to deal with a situation like this is to take a few steps back and analyze the problem. You can talk to a close friend or even write it down step by step. In either of these cases you tend to find a loophole in the situation which can take you out of it. If you can’t then think of other ways to deal with it like believe in yourself that you can come up with a better solution and walk away, take help from others or from sites that deal in such problems, choose situation that makes you feel better and benefits you the most.

In the end, just believe that no situation is permanent and every problem has some or the other solution to it. Everything gets sorted at the end of the day and you can be happy again.

How Mother Teresa Inspired Us

Written by : Shreya Jain

History has seen many significant figures that have made lasting efforts and contributions to make this world a better place to live in. Mahatma Gandhi’s leadership qualities and philosophies, Helen Keller’s undying spirit, Nelson Mandela’s incessant efforts towards justice and freedom, Jesus Christ’s message of love and forgiveness, Albert Einstein’s ‘never give up’ attitude, continue to be an inspiration to people worldwide even today. One such beautiful soul is Mother Teresa, an embodiment of love, care and selfless devotion. A woman, whose contributions to the society cannot be compared.

Courtesy:wikimedia.org
Mother Teresa, whose birth name was Agnes Gnoxha, was raised in a Catholic household in Skopje. From an early age, she began to feed and help those in need. She believed that God had called upon her, asking her to dedicate her life to the betterment of others.

She had utmost faith in God, and all determined to spread positivity, she began her missionary work in India. She learnt nursing; how to deliver babies, giving injections, medicinal doses. She lived amongst the poor and lived a life resembling theirs. She made tireless efforts to enrich their lives.

Mother Teresa came as a ray of hope in the lives of thousands of people.  Her selfless acts of serving people also influenced many others, who joined her in her journey. Mother Teresa successfully developed a community of around 4000 sisters, who helped her in establishing charity centers, orphanages, and hospitals and in serving the homeless, the blind, the refugees, the aged, the poor, the disabled and the victims of natural calamities.

She was devoted to living a life for others. Mother Teresa did everything with a great smile on her face, and always remained young at heart. She felt utmost satisfaction and joy in the art of giving. Mother Teresa’s dedication, love and compassion continue to inspire people even today.

‘I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.’ - Mother Teresa

It’s the little things that make all the difference. Be it spending time at old age homes, volunteering activities, feeding the hungry or not wasting food, smiling at people, we all have the power to make a big difference, in our own little ways.  So let’s continue getting inspired, spreading smiles and being happy!

Going for Interviews? Read these Important Things

Hello Readers,
Group discussion is one of the most important part of the selection procedures, followed by top companies for job applicants as well as top colleges for taking admission. It is important because it gives information about ones overall personality, team work and attitude.
 Courtesy: pixabay.com

Therefore, it is very important that the applicants keep certain things in mind and adopt them while being a part of group discussion. These things are carefully seen and noted by the moderator.

In a group discussion, while you go in as an individual don't act as an individual, act like how you would act in your group of friends. In a group of friends there are arguments, facts being stated, a stance being taken; the same has to be done in a group discussion as well. But, also keep in mind that there is certain level of dignity being maintained, don't turn the G.D. into a fish market.
Courtesy: wikimedia.org

While sitting on the chair, be comfortably seated, don't sit in a posture you are not comfortable with. Some people tend to sit with a very straight-stiff back, avoid that if you are uncomfortable. You may sit the way you like, as long as the people sitting next to you are not affected by it.

While you are stating a point in the G.D. always look at the person who is weak ,that is the person who has not spoken much and your words should be directed towards the strongest person, that is the person who is speaking a lot of valid points. What this does is, if the weaker person starts speaking because of this, you get extra marks, also if you keep eyes on the strongest person then the moderator will always know who is stating the best points and thus the strongest person will benefit. Please don't state invalid points, neither state repetitive points, you can re-frame your points.
Courtesy: pixabay.com
There are certain dos and don'ts that I would like to mention, if you are allowed then do carry a pen and paper to jot down yours as well as other's points as they would be very essential when you are required to give a summary at the end of the G.D. ; avoid carrying a very fancy pen, carry a simple pen; while presenting a point don't wave hands way to high that they obstruct other people in the group; your attire should be a formal one; shoes should be polished and also don't try to intervene when someone is stating a valid and non repetitive but do intervene when someone is stating an invalid point.

If I am to define an ideal person for G.D. he will be Lord Ganesha. One should try to behave like him in a Group Discussion. Ganesha has long ears which signifies a will to listen patiently and attentively to other people around. He has big eyes which signifies a will to keep an eye on everyone present in the group discussion. He has a stomach which signifies a will to absorb in all the knowledge and arguments shared by other people.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Courtesy: pixabay.com
Finally, if you are stuck and don't have any idea about the topic that has been given for the group discussion then think about the topic from these angles, the social angle, the political angle, the technological angle, the legal angle and the economic angle. You would certainly find some good points about the topic when you start to analyse the topic keeping these angles in mind.

Psychology Update: The Lollapalooza Effect

Written by : Radhika Bhattacharyya

In common parlance,  Lollapalooza means extraordinary.

However the term, "Lollapalooza effect", coined by Charlie Munger throws light on the psychological phenomena, in which multiple human biases or tendencies synchronize and go hand in hand in creating a larger than life effect . Charlie Munger is an American investor and business man, more famously known for his involvement with Mr. Warren Buffet, as his business partner.
Courtesy: staticflickr.com
Imagine a beautiful girl by the name of Sheetal, who is also humble, compassionate, and ethical. Her virtues, in addition to her beauty, all add up in making her irresistible. (Lollapalooza effect).

In a typical real life situation, imagine an inactive student named Ravi, in the Physical Training (P. T.) class. Not only is he lazy,  but he also dislikes his fastidious P. T. teacher, who in a bid to make the lazy student more active, makes him run 10 rounds of the field. Say on his 3rd round of the field, Ravi faints in the heat and his class mates end up mocking him. Embarrassed, Ravi vows to miss all his P. T. sessions. Here we see, multiple human biases acting in the same direction and at the same time, in making Ravi want to miss further P. T. sessions.
Courtesy: pixabay.com
The 'Lollapalooza effect' was coined by Munger in his 1995 Harvard speech, in which he reviewed serious instances of human misjudgment.

The 2008 sub-prime crisis is another example of the Lollapalooza effect, on a massive scale. Bankers decided to give prime loans to sub-prime lenders(high rated borrowers) at low interest rates in order to sell off more housing loans with a view to increase their business volumes. The sub-prime lenders started selling off home loans(sub-prime loans) to sub-prime borrowers (unrated borrowers) at higher interest rates, with a view of selling higher volumes of business and receiving higher commissions, without checking into the financial capability of the borrowers. And ultimately the sub-prime borrowers gained the maximum, in being able to fulfill their dreams of buying a home, without giving a thought as to their capacity of repayment of the loan. In a series of chain reactions, what occurred next, as we all know, was the sub-prime crisis.
Courtesy: pxhere.com
Here the mechanism of 'herd-mentality' and the different human tendencies and biases acting together in a synchronized manner, created the massive mortgage crisis leading to the eventual breakdown of the US economy, resulting in large-scale unemployment and recession.

Not a single player thought about the long term consequences(large dose of human misjudgment) leading to an overwhelming mortgage crisis.

Mission white bear

White bear, is a term used to describe a problem in which the person deliberately tries to forget and repress certain kind of thoughts but instead results in those thoughts appearing in the mind more and more. The efforts put in suppressing the thoughts all go in vein as the thoughts occupy more prominent place in the mind.

Courtesy: pexels.com
The reason why this problem is termed as white bear is; in the initial days of the discovery of the problem, it was a very difficult task to not think of white bear when asked to not think about it.
For example, when I say to you to not think about a pink elephant; okay please don't think about a pink elephant. Does your mind listens to you? or does it start to think about a pink elephant even after saying that it shouldn't. This problem is also termed as ironic process theory.

This problem is widely used by psychologists in the treatment of Anxiety and Depression. How? Think of it this way that, when a person is under stress and is distressed then he would keep thinking and trying to suppress his anxiety and depression but, he would actually be increasing it many times by doing this, it may even result in the person doing things completely out of his character and what is expected out of him.

This problem can also be related to memorization, and the level of control a person has on his mental power and abilities. If someone can intentionally control his thought process and make his mind think and work according to his desires and not against it, then the person has a control over the white bear syndrome.

Courtesy: staticflickr.com
Here are some ways to overcome white bear, these have been tried and test in various experiments by psychologists.
Try focus on other things; in order to distract the mind from things that are not to be thought of, the person can start to think of other things. Example- Instead of thinking of white bear start thinking of a pink lion.
Meditation; this is a very effective way to have a control over your body and mind. During the work of the whole day, we tend to not breathe properly in the way required by the body; simple deep breathing can bring in a lot change as well.
Relaxation; by simply relaxing and letting the body come out of stress and depression is another way to overcome the white bear.

I hope you good relate to the post.

What is Exactly Going Wrong?

Hello readers, I recently came across a news from the Noida City of Uttar Pradesh state of India; where a boy precisely a teenager of the age 16 years killed his mother and sister with the help of pizza cutter, scissor and a bat.

This news made be really think what is this happening, a boy who probably should have been more concerned with his school examinations has killed the closest people in his life , I was even more shocked when I came to know the reason for his act. He did all this because his mother stopped him from watching television and asked him to study.

Courtesy: pixabay.com

Now, seeing this news being featured in the newspapers and news channels, many mothers and sisters would feel very insecure when addressing or scolding their sons or brothers. While, on the other hand what this does to the psychology of another male teenager is, killing your mother or sister is the way out of homework and studying and scoldings of the parents, I might be sounding really very harsh but, this has happened in the past as well. When the teenagers see another teenager come out a similar situation that they also are dealing with, they find the solution easy to adopt and relate with.

Courtesy:wikimedia.org

I think the media houses need to be very careful, when such a news is thrown up on the television screens. The media houses should either consider not showing up such news or showing up at night time when the teenagers are asleep. The news that teenagers see on the screen or read in the newspapers tend to have a very deep impact on their minds, they actually relate to the news as their own.
The news can even cause can epidemic where multiple such incidents start to happen. And this has happened in the past as well. I am quoting here an incident from the past; in the 1960's there was a teenage epidemic  in Micronesia, where the suicide rates among the teenagers took a sharp rise. The teenagers were following each other for committing suicide and even though their reasons for the suicide were very lame, they committed suicide because as they heard about other teenagers doing it as an easy way to get out of their problems.

Courtesy: staticflickr.com
Apart from this, parents should give special attention to the behavior of the children, the kind of movies they watch, the kind of online games they play or the kind of things they talk about. If the parents see some adverse changes in their children, consultation with a psychologist needs to be done.
There should always be a free flow of information between the teenagers and the adults specially their parents.

Psychology Update - The Munchausen Syndrome

The Munchausen syndrome is kind of a mental disorder in which the person who is perfectly alright tries to show or depict that he is not well, and is feeling sick and needs attention. The reason why the person behaves this way is because he is suffering from depression or anxiety or emotional difficulties or lack of motivation or abuse in the past

So, the person who is suffering from this syndrome is basically trying to fake an illness; The identification of this syndrome can be difficult as the person is faking, being dishonest and is trying to make us believe that he needs diagnosis and attention, and rightly so, we as humans have the tendency to show sympathy towards a person's suffering.
Courtesy: pixabay.com

When the doctor gets to notice that a person is suffering from such a disorder, he will initiate treatment by the talking therapy. The doctor during the treatment tries to bring in a change in the behavior and thought process of the person.

When we find any person in our relation, suffering from this disorder, we should try to encourage them to fight it out, we should allow them to talk to us, we should make them more comfortable, we should try to get them rid of depression and anxiety issues. We should never abandon or ostracize the people who are suffering from this disorder as they can be cured only by love, care and motivation to lead a better life.

Why Saying and Being Positive is Important

We always hear people around us, asking us to stay positive, wish good and positive things; and be optimistic. Ever gave it a thought why is that so? Or consider this, there will be certain kind of people around you who will say negative, demotivating and pessimistic things to us. Ever gave it a thought why is that so?

Okay, lets roll in. Our mind is very strong yet tinder element of our body. Strong because it actually controls every other element in the body. Tinder because it can easily be contaminated with undesirable thoughts which can be devastating. So, when someone else feeds his/her thoughts in your mind, it can either be catastrophic or fruitful. Why just some one else, when you yourself feed messages to your mind it can work the same way.

Courtesy: pixabay.com
Getting a little deeper, there is something called as a conscious mind and other thing called as the subconscious mind. Yes, I have been influenced by Dr. Joseph Murphy's novel " The power of your subconscious mind". I will present before you some more light on this subject and let us see how psychology influences us.

So, yes, Conscious mind helps us to do every activity that we want to do, like a shake of our hands, legs or speaking or reading. On the other hand subconscious mind is the one which controls activities like our heart beats or blood pumping by heart or eye balls shrinking or enlarging according to light.

The subconscious mind is the one which gets affected by the thoughts that are poured on it by either our own self or some other people. When the thoughts that enter the subconscious mind are good and positive then, our the subconscious mind works along with the conscious mind to get those positive thoughts to be accomplished. Similarly if, the thought entering the subconscious mind are negative and demotivating the conscious mind will get you more closer to your negative thoughts and situation.
Courtesy: pixabay.com
So, what to do? Always stay aware of people who try to influence your subconscious mind by their negative thoughts, try nullifying their thoughts and activities by, yourself giving positive thoughts to self. When you yourself start to feel down and pessimistic thoughts try to invade your subconscious mind, then give yourself a dozen of positive messages and thoughts by speaking to your own self and telling yourself that everything is good and give yourself the confidence, that is required to tackle the situation.
Courtesy: careerguide.com
In psychological terms, when you yourself give good, positive thoughts to your subconscious mind and try to lift yourself up, it is termed as Auto Suggestion. When it is done by other person to your subconscious mind then it is called Hetero Suggestion.

I hope you could related to me. Share your views in the comments.

The Sector To Look Forward To, For Fighting Against Unemployment

Unemployment is one of the many reasons that causes intense depression which at times can be fatal too. So, why shall we not discuss about such an important cause of depression. There are about 350 million people in the whole world that suffer from serious levels of depression, lets fight out one of the cause of depression, the unemployment.
                                                                                                                                                                Courtesy: pixabay.com
The post might look like a little off the topic of the general posts that are up for a read and understanding. But, yeah there was a need for this, so here we are. Here is a post which discusses about the things we as humans need to put our most concerns on, though the technology has been growing but there are a lot of downside of it too. The post talks about the entrepreneurship, employments and most importantly the basic necessity of human beings, the agriculture. Hope the messages gets delivered to you appropriately. So, here you go.

We as humans have really performed very outrageously on various upfronts. The technological advancements have been a real treat to all the comforts of the human beings; and with a vision of setting up a human colony at Mars in the near future, we are creating a platform where only half of the Darwin’s principle is followed; the better and more adaptive organisms stays for long but the lesser adaptive don’t get eliminated; they both stay. This would lead to something severe where there might be enough phones to satisfy everyone but not enough food to keep them sustained. Thus, the sector that needs to be taken on gracefully is, the Agriculture.

Agriculture would be attracting a great deal of entrepreneurs as it influences almost our entire homosapien species but over the years, there has been a tragic decline in the number of people who are directly linked with agriculture. Statistically, according to a data provided by the World bank  there has been a significant downfall in the number of people employed in the agriculture sector, from a satisfying forty percent to a concerning twenty seven percent over a period of seventy years; this means only 2 billion of the population is trying to feed the 7.5 billion population. Thus, there is a need to get our entrepreneur brains working in the direction towards making the agricultural practises more and more efficient. Investors and shareholders would definitely be looking for entrepreneurs who would like to create an impact in this sector.

Agriculture in itself is a very diverse field and needs careful investment of time, money, technology and efforts at different levels. Though, it might seem like investing in agriculture is more of a non profitable business but stress has to be made on the fact that it has a market size of worth 4.8 trillion. Entrepreneurship in agriculture sector doesn’t mean dressing up traditionally and devoting yourself completely to mother earth; clean and tidy suits can do the trick as well, just like any other sector, the path involved is the same yet demands high efficiency.

There would be a huge shortage of land required to produce enough to nourish the population of the world, thus there is a requirement of innovative methods to enhance the productivity. The vertical garden which is getting popular in urban areas is an example that should be enough to impart the amount of innovation required in this sector. Though, it might sound scary and risky and budding entrepreneur might think of it as a very foolish idea to start of their business from this sector; but, they should be aware of the great opportunities in this sector which are untapped and demand attention. Their slight courage now can turn out to be very productive in the long run, specially for the young entrepreneurs, with speedy brains and enthusiasm to change the world with their ideas.

The important sub sectors of agriculture are the tools and equipments, fertilizers, surveillance and analysis and research and development. There are numerous problems or opportunities for entrepreneurs in each of these sectors which require cutting edge technology to lift them enough to meet the never ending demands of the population. The twenty seven percent of the population which is engaged in agriculture looks toward the entrepreneurs with a hope that they can bring in the change which would either stop their decline or uplift their present situations.

Influential entrepreneurship is the need of hour in the agricultural sectors. Most of the people engaged in agriculture, do not wish their children to be in this sectors; they want their children to get good high profile jobs. This perception has to be changed by the entrepreneurs. Agricultural sector should be made one of the most sought after sectors for jobs and that can be done by passionate entrepreneurs who enter this sector with an aim to make a change.

The agricultural sector offers enough problems, for entrepreneurs to solve and experiment with and thus helps in the development of the entrepreneurs. The problems involved in this sector are such that most of the entrepreneurs can easily relate to as they have been affected by them sometimes in their lives. Considering the example of high prices of food items; the end users are charged heavily for the food they buy but does that money really reach the person who bakes himself in the sun, if it did, there wouldn’t have been a collapse in this sector. This is an opportunity for the entrepreneurs, their energetic minds can work towards a way where profits are equally divided in the process and each member of the process holds importance equivalent to his inputs. There is a need for a change in this sector and who other than entrepreneurs can bring in the change. They are the reasons why people have started equating change to entrepreneurship.

You yeah, Agriculture might look old fashioned but it is the basic necessity and thus is the concern regarding careful investment and securitization in this sector. And it would certainly break the shackles of  unemployment by bringing Agriculture to rescue.

A Smile Can Always Help

Do you know, the outer world which you think is responsible for your activities, perception, behavior is not the only factor which plays an important part, it is also your inner world too. Indeed, the inner world can have a more substantial effect on you than the outer world. We often say that the whole world resides inside us, it is actually two hundred percent correct to say that.

Focusing directly on real life examples, how often do you find yourself doing things easily and in a good mood when you are happy? Well, that is a foolish question to ask. We generally tend to be doing our activities happily when we are happy.

So, what if we try acting happy even in tough situations? Like how about stretching up your jaw muscles a little whenever you feel a little tense? How about faking a smile at times when you are about to break, smiling is always better than tears you see. Smiling pushes your brain to feel yeah all is well, we can manage things and nothing is out of control. In tough situations, our brain feels restricted, constrained and sink because we ourselves are trying to be a little sick, okay though we can't blame ourselves for that, tough times are difficult to handle. But how about making yourself believe that things are good and manageable even though you might not think so, but just faking it for the sake of it for some moment. A simple way for doing it is SMILING.

I am trying to relate here an important principle named BioFeedback. It is somewhat a complex thing if you try to google can figure things out. But, I can give you a sense of it here.

Okay, so there was an experiment conducted among two groups of people. Both were shown a comical short movie. But, one group was forced to keep smiling during the movie while the other group was allowed to sit in any posture. Just in case you are thinking how can one be made to smile forcefully, a small pencil was kept inside their mouth, jaw to jaw, to keep the mouth in the posture of a smile.
So, what happened was, the group which were made to smile throughout forcefully actually found the movie to be very comical, while the other group would the movie just okay.

So, what you think. Whatever you might think, for or against of what I have stated, it is definitely worth a try. Next time, when you find yourself surrounded with problems and things might seem going out of hands. Forcefully try to smile. Try it once, in any case a smile would be better than the drops of tears.

" Smile at your problems and the problems will smile too "
Keep smiling. Keep loving.
