Little Things Matter a Lot

Most of us read newspapers daily, Right? What is the most creative, useful and helpful thing you did with the newspaper after reading it?

Well, I have one answer. A Delhi based Non-profit organization named Uday Foundation, is making the old newspapers count a lot.

The organization is collecting the newspapers from all over the city and using it to feed poor patients  who are admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and to their families who wait tirelessly outside the hospital.
Fabulous Idea, right?

In last 3 days they have collected around 3000 kilograms of Newspapers.

To tell you more about the impact of these, the organization has managed to feed 1000 people twice in a week. The organization believes that 10 kg of newspaper is enough to support one meal for 16 people.

Surprise at Every Corner, Keep Exploring !!

Most people in India are very new to the habit of reading. With reading  I don't mean textbooks, we are fluent textbook readers.
But novels and magazines are very new to us in comparative to rest of the world.

Supporting and encouraging this new habit in a very interesting way, there are a certain group of people who are hiding books at various public places and when someone finds these book, they can read it and keep it back, for others to discover and read. Fascinating?

Giving a little more detail of the same. There are two such communities that are running this beautiful initiative. One being the  " Books on the Delhi Metro " which hides books in various metro stations in Delhi. Other being the " Book Fairies " which hides everywhere in the city from parks and malls to restaurants and other public places.

Making this even more fun, books have stickers of the respective two communities. When one book is hidden, a hint of the place along with a picture of the book is dropped on the social networking site Instagram.

This initiative is growing in other cities as well, Mumbai, Goa,  Bangalore and Kolkata have also stepped into this initiative.

So, the next time you go around the city, keep yourself open to find books, you always desired to read and that too without spending a penny.

Line from the Book - " The Alchemist "

The Alchemist is a beautiful book written by the prominent writer Paulo Coelho.

The book talks about one's dream and destiny. It talks about how important it is to go for your dreams , listen to your instincts, follow your heart and live a life out of your comfort zone.

I am quoting here an alluring line from the book, which will make you ponder a little about your own life as well. It's very captivating and will leave you in awe.

" What's the world's greatest lie? " the boy asked completely surprised.

" It's this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That's the world's greatest lie. "

So, hasn't the line made you think. Well, I believe it would have, it made me though.

My thoughts on these fascinating lines. I think the whole significance of this line is to tell the readers that nothing is very impossible; keep making the impossible situations into I am possible ones and wonders would start happening. It's your life, go for it, don't worry about the risks involved, be brave, and most importantly have belief on your own self.

Having self belief is what differs the gems from the rest. You could easily sit down and blame others, the situation and everything else other then yourself for your suffering but nothing would happen because of it. Start taking things on yourself. It's never too late. Trust me. What say?

I would love to hear your views on the same as well.

Silently Roar

How often does it happen that our constant efforts are not appreciated by people around us, by the people who matter to us and also by the situation we are in.

What generally happens after that is, we feel torn apart and let down and disgusted and feel like ending everything.
But would that do any good? Clear answer is a big fat NO.

So, what really to do? How exactly to go about things??

" Double your efforts "

Thinking in a positive way, may be the other person or the situation expects and anticipates something better, something you are worth of and are capable of doing.
They want you to take yourself to new heights, challenge yourself and improve to be the best that anyone has seen.

Let's always take the positives out of any unbearable situation. Trust me, it would do wonders.

Don't say anything with words in response, make your actions loud enough that it can break their eardrums.
Keep the effort's level at such a position that no one can question your attempt.

Go out there, give your best. You might not get the desired outcome ones.
But keep pushing your efforts to a time and phase when outcomes are bound to come and at that stage you would release outcomes don't matter as much as your efforts and process that you were involved in.
Cheers
